As is the case in many Environmental Justice communities, the problem was identified by the community long before agencies took action. A state-operated monitor was eventually placed in Long Beach, where recorded concentrations exceeded regulatory standards.<br><br>When digging into the state data they found that\u00a0Methyl Bromide\u00a0continues to be used across California. This is an example of why monitoring and enforcement are necessary to ensure proper public health protections are achieved.
